What is The Care Show?
The Care Show is the largest care event in the UK. It’s held every year at the National Exhibition Centre in Birmingham, this year on the 9-10th of October. The show covers all sectors of Care providing products, service, inspiration, and innovation for those working in the industry.
The Care Show 2019
This year Bridge exhibited at The Care Show, meeting clients in person, catching up on industry news and making new connections.
It was an informative two days, speaking with regular care show visitors about their previous experiences at the show and meeting newcomers like ourselves, hearing about what they hoped to get out of the show. The innovation within the care industry is growing year on year and this year’s Care Show was said to be one of the busiest yet. Looking around the other stands was also interesting as many had eye-catching presentations or great giveaways that really attracted people to their stands. We’ve now got some great ideas for next year!
Our Care Show stand
Our own stand displayed the soft furnishings we supply such as curtains, cushions, and bed throws. Our “win a magnum of champagne” prize draw on the stand was a hit, collecting many business cards. The winner was picked at the end of the last day, and we want to send our congratulations to Verity Prentice from Hallmark Care Homes. Your champagne is on the way! This was a great way of making connections, so thank you to everyone who dropped their business card in the bowl.
At The Care Show 2019
A couple of the Bridge team members attended a few of the talks and presentations were given throughout the two days, one notable one was a presentation called “Thank You For The Music” given by Big Ian Donaghy. This was about how much impact music can have on the elderly particularly those with dementia. As we often work with healthcare sites that deal with dementia, it was informative to get a new perspective on the illness and see how much a simple thing like music can impact not only those with the illness but their friends and loved ones as it brings back memories they have made together in the past. This engaging talk had the audience singing along whilst learning about dementia. Click the link to Ian’s website https://bigian.co.uk/ to find out more about what he does.
We’re now back in the office following up leads and making the most of the connections we gained over the two days at the Care Show. If you saw us there, connect with us over our socials so we can keep in touch or send us an email at [email protected] if you have any queries.
We’re already looking forward to The Care Show 2020!
